After the release of his debut album 'The Afterlove', Mason Watts was approached by the talented, young, German producer BUNT. to reimagine the title track 'Afterlove' into a feel good summer anthem. By taking the intricate emotional lyrics and minimal soundscapes, BUNT. has given 'Afterlove' a new meaning by turning a lonely breakup song into a motivational, heart racing, bright sing-a-long.
“The Afterlove” a six track, 19 minute, 41 second immersion into the mind of a 18-21 year old Watts.
Who within those 20 minutes pours his thoughts into music, exploring a young man whose heart has been left in pieces and is terrified to grow up.
Recovery came about following a real low point in my personal life. I took a relationship for granted without realising it, until it was too late. I think the song really reflects this idea as well as my desperation and hope for a second chance.
Lyrically ‘Afterlove’ is a bittersweet adaptation of the phrase ‘Afterlife’ - it's about facing the end of a relationship and being able to let go, as you know you’ll find each other in… the ‘Afterlove’.
Enough’s Enough, brings out that internal battle of loving someone who you're constantly fighting with and who is treating you poorly. The main hooks sums it up best... How do you know when 'Enoughs enough’.
There are so many things that I wish I could have said to people in my life who needed support and writing ‘Sanctuary’ gave me a chance to say them. I hope people can connect with this song in the same way I do.
